WELCOME to TexOma Pinto Horseshow And Trail (TOPHAT)!
We would like you to
get to know and join us as a member in the official West Texas Charter of the
Pinto Horse Association of America, Inc. We welcome all enthusiasts of
horses, ponies, and miniature horses, regardless of their color or heritage,
and all riders or horse lovers of any age, race, gender,
discipline of riding, driving, or just admirers of the equine species.
We would like to become your group to ride, work with, learn more, show or
just have fun with your four-legged barn buddy. We have some meetings
in Burkburnett, TX, but because of the amount of territory
we encompass, it is very hard to get EVERYONE together at the same
time. We plan to have some meetings (suggestions very welcome),
get-togethers, trail rides, clinics, and horse shows soon.
We had our first Pinto-approved horse
show in May 2008, and had a lot of fun. It was not a financial success,
but it was GRAND fun over three days with four judges & 225 classes. Pinto-recognized & open classes were
approved by many breed associations’ alternative competition programs (Pinto,
Paint Horse, Appaloosa, Arabian, POA, Palomino) and several different open
horse clubs).
For those of you with Pintos, we want to help you get involved with the Pinto
Horse Association and all of their programs.
(Outlines of these will follow on this website, or you may go to www.pinto.org).
For those of you that have
multi-colored horses, ponies, or miniatures that are not registered as Pinto,
we can help you too! We have our own Field
Representatives for those that need to be inspected or need help in figuring
out what to do in the registering process, or you may download the
easy-to-follow instructions and forms from the Pinto website, www.pinto.org. The only breeds or types NOT accepted in Pinto are animals with
Appaloosa, mule or donkey, or draft breeding (except most warmbloods).
If you have an unregistered or undocumented equine, but have the color
required -- 4 square inches on a horse, or 3 square inches on a pony, or just
2 square inches on a mini, all cumulative – your horse or pony may be
eligible for registration. And for those of you that don’t have a
spotted horse, pony, or mini, or have one of those ineligible for Pinto
registration -- fear not -- we love you too and would like to welcome you as
well. We are a fun, family oriented
group of people who love our horses, whether they are Pintos or not.
Please browse our
website and take advantage of some of the services offered on it. News,
Dates, Classifieds - both members and non-members,
show results to come, and more. If you have any question, please
contact me as the Charter President at 940-569-2177, or write Sue Ellen
Parker, 1 Parker Place,
Burkburnett, TX
76354. Thank You For Visiting With Us!
